Hike the Lower Foothills | Mardi

A short trek in the Annapurna Region to have a close view of Mt. Machhapuchhere (Fishtail).

Starting off with few hours from Pokhara, you will be driving to Phedi and starting the trek the other day. The 7 days Mardi Himal Trek is a new off beat trek and best done in April and March. And later with couple rest days in Pokhara, you will drive back to Kathmandu and spend couple days in the capital before departure.

Day 1 | TREKKING | DHAMPUS

Followed by breakfast, your guide will pick you up from your hotel and will drive you to Phedi. From this point our trekking starts. The 1 -2 hours of waking trail before Australian camp is gradually ascend. Then with few hours of Nepali falt level of trail we will reach our designation - Pothana.

Day 2 | TREKKING | FOREST CAMP

This day will totally be Jungle walk. Most of the section is ascend. With sound of birds and fresh air inside jungle you will have a wonderful campsite at Konar Forest Camp with beautiful of Ghandruk on the southern side.

Day 3 | TREKKING | LOW CAMP

Few hours of forest walk will lead us to the top of the hill where you will have amazing view of Annapurna Region with Mt. Machhapuchhere (fishtail). If lucky with weather we will able to see all the way to Manaslu. Total hours of trek is about 4 -5 depending upon the pace of the group.

Day 4 | TREKKING| HIGH CAMP

Today is the day where we will be ascend more than 4000 meters. The distance will be shorter but time frame will be quite similar to other days. With slow pace we will try to make our campsite during the afternoon.

Day 5 | MARDI BASE CAMP | HIGH CAMP

Today we will hike Mardi Base Camp which is situated at 4300m. On our way we will enjoy the beautiful sunrise. We will be ascend about 3 -4 hours, in which we will try to reach Mardi Base Camp 4300m. Rest of the day will be enjoying environment.

Day 6 | TREKKING | SIDHING

Followed by breakfast next to Mt. Machhapuchhere and Annapurna South and HImchuli, we will descend down to Sidding. Most of the trail down to Sidding is walking through forest area.

Day 7 | TREKKING | DRIVE | POKHARA

Today is the last day of our trek. We will trek down the valley for 2 - 4 hours until we reach a place called Lumre, where our car will be ready to drop us to Pokhara. You will be escort to your hotel. You can enjoy your time in Pokhara rest of you day.

GEAR LIST | What to bring on this Trek?

Think only safety. Safety from the rain, the cold, the heat and the altitude. So simply put the bare essentials would be

  • RAIN - a rain jacket and if required during monsoon, rainproof pants
  • COLD - layers of clothings - thermals, tee shirt, fleece, windstoppers and down. Sleeping bag and liner for the night
  • HEAT - Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses
  • ALTITUDE - Water bottle, snacks and a great Attitude! The rest is all about building an itinerary thats going up slow!
