Where does your money go?

Yes, you have every right to ask where the money you pay for experiences goes, and we like to be transparent. We do make money, as we should for providing professional services, but also ensure that our stakeholder base also benefits, and well.

The pie will give you an idea of how your money you pay us for expereinces gets spent. We at Socialtours try to spread the money as much as possible in the economy amongst various stakeholders. This is based on our base principle of spreading the money into the local economy, and a deeper mission of linked prosperity! Read our vision mission and values here!

Using one of our experiences in Kathmandu called THROW your own SOUVENIR, where travellers visit a pottery unit and learn how to use the wheel and make a souvenir for themselves, we checked where the money goes.

If the government takes the biggest portion in form of taxes, then a sizeable sum also goes to the different entrepreneurs like the transport company, the pottery expert guide and the facility where an organic lunch is served. The person guiding you receives around 12% of your total payments.

This obviously varies by different experiences, but as a company that strongly believes in not vertically integrating, this follows a very similar pattern.

This way we ensure that along with us at socialtours there are a host of other beneficiaries who will benefit from your decision to tour with us.

Thanks for your business!

I am usually never in the office, and my colleagues call me the Tourist. I think strategically, and align the company to the future. I enjoy developing new experiences the most, and of course nothing can beat leading a group on a unique journey through Nepal. Uh Oh I forgot, I would rather be in the mountains!
